Matcon Powder Handling – in the eyes of Quentin Neals, Matcon Americas

We caught up with Quentin Neals, our new Business Line Leader for the Americas region, to find out more about his role and why you should choose Matcon as your powder handling partner:

What is your current role and responsibilities?

My key responsibility is management of the Matcon Americas team, ensuring the companies’ business objectives and strategies are delivered successfully. It is also imperative that we provide a customer service that continues well beyond project completion so that our customers are repeatedly satisfied with our equipment and that their production efficiency, flexibility and powder handling capability remain optimum.

How do you deliver customer obsession?

Customer obsession starts with having the right people in the right position. Each employee needs to be “customer centric” and have a genuine deep desire to help and guide customers ensuring they benefit from the best powder handling system to meet their requirements. I’m pleased to say the team at Matcon do exactly this!

I like to establish strong customer relationships through good project management and aftersales care.

What has been your career experience to date?

For the last 6 years, I have worked for companies involved in some form with powders, fines and granules. Primarily dealing with sieving and separation technology, this has really helped to understand the characteristics of material flow when reviewing a customer’s application.

After concluding what their system requirements are and where they might be experiencing process issues, our vast process knowledge and experience gained from our extensive global customer base, allows us to find the optimum solution to meet their needs.

By following this approach, we find a “Win-Win” outcome for both the customer and Matcon.

How can we help in applications currently experiencing a high demand in products?

Food (Nutritional and Infant Formula) are seeing a peak at present. Our IBC System, with integral Cone Valve technology, can facilitate handling of even the most difficult flowing powders & protects the blend during transfer, providing a great product quality every time.

The system is fully contained offering dust-free transfers and the IBCs are hygienically designed for ease of cleaning, reducing the likelihood of waterborne bacteriological infection.
