Materials Handling Product Range

We supply powder handling equipment for fully integrated IBC systems covering powders handling from Formulation through Blending and on to Packing and Cleaning.

All modules are stand-alone, so can easily be expanded.

The Matcon Powder Handling System

This flexible system is all you need for efficient bulk materials processing, across multiple industry applications

Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) Systems

The Matcon system is based on using powder containers to transport batches safely between the common manufacturing steps - filling, mixing, discharging and cleaning.

Powder Handling System Modules

By decoupling the manufacturing steps we enable manufacturers to achieve a flexible, and efficient powder manufacturing system.

No waiting for formulation.

Fill powder containers off-line for improved efficiency.

Mix any recipe, any time.

Eliminate time-consuming cleaning for instant recipe changeovers.

Prevent mix segregation.

Use the IBC Cone Valve for right first time, every time production.

Hygienic design for quick cleaning.

No system down-time with off-line cleaning of IBCs.

Whether you are upgrading an existing pharmaceutical facility or designing a new one, it is essential to consider the impact of materials handling on the overall performance of your plant.

Powder Handling

Cone Valve IBCs from 50L to 3500L enable reliable feed of powders & granules to tablet compression or roller compaction without segregation.

Tablet Processing

A single Tablet IBC can replace multiple drums & offers automatic filling capabilities, whilst gently handling tablets & capsules.

Cone Valve IBCs have the unique ability to be able to handle the solvent rich, “wet cake” solids between the centrifuge and drying processes.

The Original Cone Valve IBC Manufacturers

At the heart of the Matcon powder containers, you will find Cone Valve Technology - invented, patented and developed by us.

We use it to help manufacturers overcome issues of powder mix segregation, containment and bridging that are inherent in the traditional powder handling systems.

What is a Cone Valve

Matcon IBCs have a ‘passive’ cone seated within the outlet of the powder containers.  When located on the discharge station an ‘active’ probe assembly lifts the cone which creates and annular gap causing material to discharge under mass-flow.

Why it is important

It is a superb discharging device overcoming all manner of powder flow problems. The lifting action of the cone breaks up bridged product and prevents material from rat-holing and causing material segregation.

Our approach

Our systems help customers innovate and stay ahead of the competition.

The Cone Valve technology means that no matter what you might want to manufacture in the future, you will have the ability to handle the ingredients and recipes effectively – a future-proof solution!

We work in partnership with you to create the right system designed to fulfil your business needs.
